XLeague.TV
XLeague.TV, which is Portland Media’s eSports channel (part of Richard Desmond’s Northern and Shell), has just agreed a content deal with MavTV, a US broadcaster. This is very important for both parties as MavTV will gain unique access to 8.2m subscribers in the UK, and XLeague.TV will gain more viewers due to the broadening of its content. With a channel rebrand to follow shortly, this is a very interesting case study in which a niche channel can market itself to a much wider audience without losing its core viewers and content.
