SimplySwitch, the price comparison website owned by Daily Mail and General Trust, is to shut down after failing to measure up to performance targets set by its new owner.
The utility price site's failure is a blow to a media group, which paid £16.5m in cash for the business as part of a wider effort to reduce its dependence on newspaper advertising by investing in a string of websites, writes the Times.
