Dear Will
Re stories such as this

Firms in the UK are indeed missing out on benefits from London 2012, but not necessarily in the ways that are being reported, and benefits can be attained from London 2012 but again not in the ways being promoted by Regional Development Agencies.
A singular focus on the pursuit of securing contracts from London 2012, whilst a standard business approach, has merely buried alternative options that can deliver for every business in the UK a small but tangible reward from association with the sporting exploits of the nation.
One such option, pioneered by the representative body of Britain's Olympic and Paralympic competitors themselves, affords local businesses multiple free of charge consumer marketing platforms, significant budget reductions in terms of subsistence and entertainment, enhance staff pay and benefits packages and delivers a sponsorship and CSR policy at a fraction of normal costs. There also the collective added benefits of helping to stimulate local economic activity and providing incentives for inbound tourism.
In terms of gaining association with the nation's elite athletes, membership of the British Athletes Affinity Club ranges from £12 to £25 per employee and is detailed on
http://www.britishathletes.org/about-us/affinity-club/business.php.
This opportunity in form of Elite Reward Packages, equally applies to sole traders as it does large corporates.
Without express knowledge of specific company budgets, but merely taking as a guide the money saved by individual users of such reward packages being over £200 a year*, lends credence that with some alternative thinking on part of organisations, you can deliver extensive benefits for the region.
I hope that you can now help generate awareness of this initiative perhaps starting in March with a big push to help raise money on a 50/50 basis with Sport Relief?
