Excitement is mounting as the first round of voting in the Internet Retailing Awards reaches its conclusion with the long-awaited publication of the retail names who have been commended in the awards.

Commended retailers range from long-established traditional high street retailers who are adapting successfully to the demands of multichannel, such as M&S and John Lewis, and online etailers, such as Net-a-Porter, Amazon and Asos, who have built strong reputations over the last decade, to names that have more recently emerged, such as Wiggle and Zalando.

Jon Worley, Director of Customer Interactions from The Logic Group writes .. 2012 has been a tough year for the high street, with retailers struggling to drive sales and many high street stores shutting their doors permanently.

By contrast, the online high street saw resilient growth. In fact, the latest figures of the annual IMRG e-Retail Sales Index have revealed that online sales in November are up 18 per cent from last year as the festive rush has encouraged consumers to reach into their digital pockets. Fashion accessories – Bling loses its shine to ‘Lingerie’

Consumer online searches for fashion accessories took a turn in April, with the number of queries using the term ‘Jewellery’ dropping 18 per cent on January levels, reveals the latest fashion retail-related data from leading independent digital marketing agency, Greenlight.

Meanwhile searches for ‘Lingerie’ dominated and maintained the lead.

According to Greenlight’s report ‘Fashion – Issue 13’, which profiles UK consumer online search behaviour, there were 3.4 million searches made online for womenswear, menswear and fashion accessories in April. [more…]
