Shopitize extends reach to 25 million through partnership with Johnston Press

Mobile marketing platform Shopitize has extended its reach to 25 million consumers in the UK thanks to a partnership with publisher Johnston Press.

The partnership will give Johnston Press, one of the UK’s largest publishers with 250 newspapers and associated websites,  a smarter way to build brand loyalty with its readers through a range of rewards, all activated through the Shopitize mobile marketing platform.

With a reach of 25 million consumers, Shopitize is now one of the largest mass reach mobile channels in the UK, where brands can build relationships directly with consumers based on verified purchases of their products.

Why you need to move with mobile

Last week the mobile industry descended on Barcelona to Mobile World Congress. With entire halls dedicated to apps, marketing and the latest mobile connected technology, the show is no longer a place just for mobile manufacturers. This year we saw bikes, cars, smart remotes, NFC payments and even a ‘connected’ bottle of whisky.

FMCG brands should be taking note of what goes on here. All of the announcements point to growing connectivity between brands and shoppers, with the smartphone at the centre of this connected world. These innovations are set to make it even easier for customer engagement, and if brands don’t engage with shoppers then chances are someone else will.

Get him up the aisle: UK shoppers finding love in the supermarket

  • One in eight has given their number to a fellow supermarket shopper
  • 6.38pm is the prime time to find love in the supermarket
  • Pizza aisle the biggest hotbed of supermarket flirting

This research may seem to be cloaked in the normal over the top PR approach. Get that out of your mind. It makes good sense and it paints a new picture of shopping habits integrating even more fully into our lifestyles. It certainly gives a clear picture of our changing social climate and it adds up to an important read.

Forget bagging a bargain, research from shopper marketing app,@Shopitize has found that supermarkets are the hottest new place to pick up a date. Brits are going wild in the aisles, according to the latest consumer insight data from Shopitize, with one in eight (13 per cent) saucy shoppers admitting to exchanging numbers with a fellow trolley-pusher.

Six per cent have dated someone they met in the supermarket, whilst staggeringly, two per cent of those questioned said they had married someone they met at the supermarket.
