‘Tweet Your Receipt’, a new form of engaging with the consumer, is being pioneered from now until the end of December in the drinks off-trade by Budweiser Budvar.
During this period, purchasers of the Budvar Original 330ml four packs can take a digital picture of the printed receipt, log into Twitter and tweet it to @TweetUrReceipt to enter a draw for cash prizes of £250 and other prizes including a year’s supply of Budvar.
Participants chosen as one of the random winners are mentioned in a tweet by @TweetUrReceipt and are also sent a private direct message.
Every new receipt brings with it the entitlement to another entry.
The promotion is being advertised on Facebok and Twitter.
Ian Moss, Budvar’s marketing controller, said:
“Being a wonderful consumer motivator because participation involves our target audience in using the familiar tools and social media platforms they communicate with all the time.”
Tweet Your Receipt represents a development of the familiar purchase-required promotion and Budvar report the response to their new concept has been sufficiently impressive for Moss to consider ‘Tweet Your Receipt’ becoming an On-trade promotion in 2013.
