While the range and variety of brand offers continues to multiply, Shopitize is now embarked on a planned series of recruitment activities through multiple channels and strategic partners aimed at achieving its next target of 100,000 users by May 2013.

The Shopitize money-saving app was designed to enable brands to directly promote cashback and rewards offers but also to engage interactively with shoppers in a simple but fun way via their smartphones. Some of the UK’s biggest brands signed-up for the service including General Mills, Kellogg’s and United Biscuits as well as niche brands such as Aunt Bessie’s and Little Dish.

The strategic goal of Shopitize in developing its shopper engagement app is to provide brand partners with invaluable real time data and analytics on the nation’s shopping habits, arming them with powerful and actionable consumer statistics and data.

When, where and what

Initially aimed at 1,000 savvy shoppers, the Shopitize app’s popularity quickly grew to a final trial user group of over 11,000 registered users. This has enabled Shopitize to give a broader perspective and insight into the three Ws of grocery buying … when, where and what. Importantly, the number of downloads leading to registrations and cashback claims also exceeded expectations.

Brand partners have been delighted with average redemption rates for offers of 15% and appreciative of non-existent mis-redemption as well as the speed of campaign set-up which can be as little as 3 hours, providing clear benefit analysis against traditional sales promotion channels.

Shoppers have been equally delighted with both the range of offers and speed of payment with earned cashback typically being paid in 2 days, placing Shopitize light-years ahead of its competition.
