Top Connect’s TravelSim service reaches 2014 user and roaming savings targets

Telecom specialist reports that this year’s target of driving the customer base to 5 million and saving collective users more than $280 million in roaming charges has been achieved two months early

As the doors of the London event World Travel Market are about to open next week, telecoms firm Top Connect ( today reports that it has reached its end 2014 targets with its pre-paid TravelSim ( roaming service and is  two months ahead of its business schedule.

In January 2014, Top Connect announced plans to grow its TravelSim customer base to over 5 million by end 2014 saving users a collective $280 million in roaming charges in the process. This compares with a user base of 3.6 million at the end of 2013 and generating collective savings of just over $200 million last year.

Since the beginning of the year, Top Connect has attended and exhibited its call back roaming service at key industry events around the world and met with many mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) to discuss and agree distribution arrangements.

Many have since become TravelSim distributors in key markets such as Africa, North and South America, Europe and South East Asia and are earning recurring revenues of up to 30% on TravelSim’s standard voice and data costs.

The latest event where Top Connect will meet with potential travel distributors is at London’s World Travel Market event (November 3 – 6, booth # TT 429) at the ExCel Exhibition Centre.

TravelSim is the world’s leading call back, pre-paid communications service for travelling executives and holidaymakers. Using TravelSim, users avoid high calling and data roaming charges from their local providers when crossing frontiers and can save up to 85% of costs usually associated with international mobile communications.

Thanks to agreements in place with tier-one GSM operators in over 140 countries, TravelSim is the only pre-paid service to offer quality communications at unbeatable rates.
