The launch of the Cheshire and Merseyside Women’s Health and Maternity App exemplifies this shift by offering comprehensive information on topics such as menopause, contraception, and pelvic health. This app aligns with the national Women’s Health Strategy to address long standing gaps in care and empower women to make informed decisions about their health.

For women navigating menopause—a stage often associated with weight gain due to hormonal changes—dietary adjustments and exercise remain critical. Searches for terms like “menopause belly diet” have surged, reflecting heightened awareness about managing weight during this life stage. Experts recommend Mediterranean-inspired meals rich in calcium and low in saturated fats to mitigate risks like osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease.

The Role of GLP-1 Medications

A growing number of women are exploring GLP-1 medications as part of their weight loss journey. These drugs have gained traction for their effectiveness but remain inaccessible for some due to cost, stigma, or difficulty obtaining GP appointments. Wrap-around care combining medication with lifestyle changes is increasingly seen as essential for sustainable results.
