London digital marketing agency Digitalhound wins online shopping contract

LONDON digital marketing agency Digitalhound has been instructed to handle the marketing for Czech retailer Alza.cz’s British and German websites.

The full services agency will help develop and grow the online presence of Alza.co.uk and Alza.de over the coming months. Once established, it is hoped the websites will take on Amazon and Curry’s in the UK and Media Markt in Germany.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s Brad and Dave return with the next phase of the car hire company’s humorous ‘UK car hire with US customer service’ ads, created by digital agency DARE.

The activity forms part of a two-phased campaign to drive awareness around Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s key brand messages. The first tranche of ads will focus on its range of vehicles, pushing the message that no matter what you’re doing at the weekend, Enterprise Rent-A-Car has the vehicle for you.

A second phase will launch in January to drive interest in the rental car company’s global network during the peak holiday booking time.

A global research study conducted by brand experience agency Momentum Worldwide and their shopper marketing design consultancy ChaseDesign has found that 84% of the UK now use mobile apps to purchase goods.

However, the results highlight a large gap in the customer’s retail journey with only 1% of UK shoppers using a shop’s mobile app whilst in store.  The WE KNOW MODERN SHOPPERS study found that 90% of the UK believes that mobile apps enhance their shopping experience and the main benefits of using a store’s app is for time saving (88%) and cost saving (80%). These figures show that consumers want to purchase items quickly and for the best possible price, but the in-store experience isn’t allowing them to do so.

London congestion busting idea wins D&AD award

An innovative concept to make it easier to navigate London on foot by marking the city’s underground rail routes at street level has been named the winner of the Ford-sponsored brief at the Design & Art Direction (D&AD) New Blood Awards.

The campaign concept called Streetlines was developed by student Jamie Quantrill of Falmouth University, UK, and is designed to help alleviate congestion on underground rail – or Tube – journeys by reminding commuters that distances between many stations are walkable.
