B STREET London has strengthened its business offering with the appointment of Mike Spicer as Managing Director. Mike brings over 20 years of business leadership to the agency, having spent most of his career as Managing Director of Arc Worldwide, a division of Leo Burnett.

 

He then went on to be Group MD of Havas / EHS Brann and most recently worked at The Pulse Group. Mike served as the CEO / MD of the exhibitions and events agency with a plan to develop client relationships to deliver an integrated offering and expand the agency’s proposition.

The big agency groups are turning to online pitching to boost the efficiency of their new business efforts.

The number of large agencies using blur's online marketplace to win new marketing and PR clients has risen dramatically with over 2,000 joining in the past 12 months.

In recent months, firms such as JWT, Edelman, Iris Worldwide, Leo Burnett, Lewis PR, McCann and Havas have joined blur to pitch for marketing, PR, video and digital briefs.

Argos has stepped up its digital transformation by confirming plans for 10 concession outlets within Sainsbury's stores.

The retailer, which makes products from electronics to garden furniture, and the supermarket chain see the partnership as an opportunity to boost customer numbers, convenience and choice for shoppers, despite both offering general merchandise (GM) including TVs.
