Exponential to be headline sponsor of IAB Engage 10th anniversary

Events : Exponential Interactive @exponentialinc is to be the headline sponsor of the Internet Advertising Bureau UK’s flagship annual event, IAB Engage.This year’s event marks the tenth anniversary of Engage, which launched in 2005 with a stellar cast of speakers including Bill Gates and Lord Puttnam.

It garnered nationwide coverage as Gates pronounced that ‘the future of advertising is the internet’. Last year’s event attracted more than 800 advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies.

Engage 2014 is being held at the Barbican Theatre, London on the 15th October.

Even the largest and most high profile companies suffer from PR disasters when stunts go wrong. Bill Gates accidentally released thousands of live mosquitoes into a crowd of celebrities who had paid $2000 each to be there, Sony included a dead goat in one of their game launches which naturally horrified a lot of people. It is a risky business trying out a publicity stunt.

Digital conference ad:tech's head of UK Chris Asselin has said that Britain has the talent that is capable of producing the world's next technology giant.

Speaking to The Drum, Asselin discussed the BIMA Hall of Fame, the first 20 inductees of which will be announced at ad:tech London on 19 and 20 September, and reflected on the technological talent that the Hall of Fame will highlight from these shores.
