18-country product content deal for Nielsen Brandbank

Colgate-Palmolive has chosen Nielsen Brandbank to distribute their product content – such as copy, images and videos – to retailers and wholesalers across 18 countries.

The two companies have entered a master service agreement spanning 18 countries, whereby Colgate-Palmolive will upload their product content to Nielsen Brandbank, who will then publish this content to the manufacturer’s retail and wholesale partners.

MySupermarket will soon be enhancing its website with additional rich product content, through adoption of Nielsen Brandbank’s Connect service for a selection of GSK’s products.

Now that over half of the UK’s shoppers use online content in their purchasing journeys, it’s becoming increasingly important to be able to provide a relevant and engaging shopping experience – but the standard product pages seen today don’t leave a lot room for creativity or differentiation.

Movers and Groovers : “Consumers now demand a richer experience when it comes to products online” .. Kim Ludlow, Brandbank

The managing director for grocery shopping and comparison site mySupermarket.co.uk, Kim Ludlow, has joined product content company Brandbank to help FMCG brands do a better job at bringing their products to life on shopping websites.

Ludlow, a former Tesco.com head of sales, will head up digital and business innovations at Brandbank, who help FMCG suppliers in 16 countries create and distribute product content, mainly for e-commerce purposes.

Nielsen Holdings @Nielsen has today announced that it has successfully completed its acquisition of Brandbank, an established world leader specialised in the process of digitally collecting, managing and distributing FMCG product and brand image content for retail syndication across in-store, print promotional and e-commerce platforms.

“This acquisition marks an exciting advance in our company’s digital evolution,” explains Nielsen global president John J. Lewis. “These new digital capabilities will enrich our existing global product reference information and operational processes to drive greater analytic capabilities for our clients.
