Money talks as Dixons moves Carphone into AMV BBDO

Dixons Carphone, the result of a merger between Dixons (which owns Currys) and Carphone Warehouse in 2014 has finally consolidated most of its creative business into AMV BBDO, in media terms about £60m plus.

The big loser is independent agency Brothers and Sisters which created the rumbustious Keith Lemon online campaign for Carphone Warehouse. This now moves into AMV. [more…]

The inspiration for the idea came from the fact that the home of Kerrygold is the wettest place in Ireland, and plays on the British and Irish obsession with the weather, while linking the provenance of the Irish butter through to its unique golden taste.

Independent agency Toucan has appointed Kevin Frost, formerly Group Creative Director at Momentum London. Frost has over 25 years experience within network and boutique agencies including Arc/Leo Burnett, FCB, LoweOpen and most recently Momentum London.

He was one of the founding partners of MullenLowe Open (formerly LoweOpen) where he was responsible for building the creative department and winning new clients such as Morrisons and SC Johnson. Within his time at FCB he established and built the shopper proposition across the Beiersdorf business within the UK and Northern Europe, along with launching the new look Lloyds Pharmacy European network and roll out.
