The Marketing Society awards nine new fellowships.

Last week at the top of the Gherkin, London, The Marketing Society honoured nine of its members with Fellowship of The Society - an accolade awarded to only 5% of its membership.

Marketers from brands including Facebook, McLaren and IBM were honoured for their bold and inspiring marketing leadership along with three honorary fellowships including Roisin Donnelly, David Pearson and Dave Trott in recognition of their outstanding contribution to business.

Movers and Groovers : Ogilvy appoints Gerald Lewis as Worldwide Executive Creative Director for Dove

Ogilvy has appointed Gerald Lewis to the role of Worldwide Executive Creative Director for Dove. He will join Ogilvy immediately and report to Ogilvy’s Worldwide ECD for Unilever, Andre Laurentino.

Lewis will be responsible for driving the creative vision and overall creative quality of Ogilvy’s work for the Dove brand. He will be based in London, which is the Global hub for Dove and replace Maureen Shirreff, who returns to Ogilvy Chicago where she joined two years ago.

UK online retail mobile traffic and sales boom in the run-up to Christmas - highlights the changing role of the retail website

The IBM Digital Analytics Benchmark revealed that the percentage of traffic to UK retail websites coming from mobile devices is up by over 60 percent, year on year, in October 2013 compared to October 2012. The amount of sales coming from mobile devices has increased by 80 percent.  This trend towards a greater proportion of sales from mobile devices has accelerated over the last two years, rising from almost 25 percent in October 2012 compared to October 2011 (to 80 percent in last year to October).
