No Brexit plans in place for 60% of British retailers, finds research from Global-e

by on May 25, 2016

A survey of 250 British retail decision-makers released today by Global-e, the cross-border e-commerce specialist, reveals that 3 in 5 (60%) retailers have made no business plans whatsoever should a Brexit go ahead in June; a little over a month away. In fact, 96% of retail sole traders have made no business provisions at all for a potential Brexit.

Among the cross-section of retail businesses surveyed, medium-sized retailers (100-249 employees) are most prepared for a potential Brexit with over a half (54%) saying they have made plans as a business already. This group was also most in favour of a Brexit, with 54% saying that they will vote to leave the European Union, compared to under a quarter (24%) of respondents in companies with more than 500 employees. Travel companies to launch own-brand holiday SIM cards

by on July 18, 2013

As summer holiday sales continue to drop due to the UK’s summer sunshine, struggling UK travel companies are being forced to greatly improve holiday deals

TravelSim (, the originators of the travel SIM card and now with 3.5 million customers worldwide, is urging UK travel companies to improve deals by launching their own brand holiday SIM card which will save holiday makers hundreds of pounds on data roaming charges.  As the UK’s heat wave continues travel agents are beginning to feel the pinch, with sales on last-minute summer holidays dropping by more than 20% in the last few weeks. Instead of venturing abroad, sun chasing Brits are choosing to keep their cash and stay at home meaning travel companies have to work doubly hard to try and entice them on to the plane.
