In a second wave of activity surrounding Currys PC World’s sponsorship of the Gadget Show, M&C Saatchi has unveiled a new range of humorous idents supporting the retail giant’s positioning as ‘the home of new technology’.

These idents were unveiled during the Gadget Show on Channel 5 on Monday 3 June at 8pm. They underline the brand’s tech credentials in a humorous and light hearted way, showing customers trying out brilliant and bizarre gadgets in a Currys PC World store. [more…]

M&C Saatchi has appointed Antonia Harrison to the role of International Development Director.

Harrison will be reporting to Moray MacLennan, CEO at M&C Saatchi Worldwide. She joins the agency from Bernie Eccelstone's Formula One Management, where she was Marketing and Sponsorship Director, tasked with developing new strategic partnerships for the sport.

Prior to working at Formula One Management, Harrison was Deputy Managing Director at Atelier Leo Burnett, and has also worked at leading agencies such as Euro RSCG, JWT London, and Publicis. In 2003 she founded Publicis Focus – a communications agency specialising in marketing to women – together with Miriam Jordan Keane. [more…]

M&C Saatchi, BBH and Maxus announced as 2013 Guardian Young Lions winners

Three Young Lions teams have been selected to represent the UK at the 2013 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, having won a competition run by Guardian News & Media.

The Guardian Young Lions competition recognises the brightest new talent in the communications and advertising industries, with entrants being asked to respond to a creative brief set by charity Save the Children. Entrants had just 24 hours to respond, and produce their ideas in one of three categories: media, print and cyber.

Each country involved in the festival has one national sponsor, and for the fifth year running Guardian News & Media is the official UK representative. The competition is open to young advertising professionals aged 28 or younger. [more…]

M&C Saatchi has appointed Sveta Doucet – who will be joining its New York office - as Chief Strategy Officer.  Doucet will officially start in November, and will report to NY CEO Jeff Brooks.

She joins Pierre Lipton, Chief Creative Officer, who started last month after working as Executive Creative Director of AKQA San Francisco.

Unique M&C Saatchi bootcamp gives advertising hopefuls a competitive edge

Aspiring advertising creatives will today pitch their ideas to a panel of industry heavyweights, following an intensive two-week bootcamp from advertising giant M&C Saatchi.

Folkestone is hosting a national first as a one-of-a-kind ‘pop up’ agency sees the great and good of advertising lend inspiration, training and support to young hopefuls, in a two-week crash aimed at setting them on course for success in the creative communications industry.

‘The Lab’ provides expert tuition to twelve 18 to 24 year olds, handpicked from a large crop of hopeful applicants on the strength of their answers to several questions designed to illustrate their creativethinking. Participants hail from Folkestone and beyond and range from artists, aspiring actors and photographers and creative graduates.
