Viewability study : Inconsistent approaches across vendors seen as industry’s biggest issue

Half of senior digital execs say IAB/MRC viewability  standards inadequate

Half of senior agency and publisher executives, interviewed in-depth for a study on the present and future of online ad viewability, believe the standards set by the IAB and Media Rating Council are not an adequate measure of viewability.

The report, produced by ad technology company InSkin Media and consultancy FaR Partners (a Theorem Digital company) reveals that only about a third (37%) think the official guideline – that 50% of an ad has to be in view for one second, to be deemed viewable – is sufficient

This one's a hardy perennial: big client calls review over Christmas. According to Campaign Direct Line is reviewing its £46m account with M&C Saatchi, which the agency has held since 2005. You’d think that with eight years to think about it, it could have found a more sociable time.

But there you go. Direct Line Group, which spends a whopper £85m on media in the UK with MediaCom, is apparently not reviewing its Churchill account at WCRS or Green Flag at CHI. Read On

The UK’s most successful female marketers were honoured last night at the annual Women in Marketing (WIM) Awards.  Founded by volunteer, Ade Onilude, and organised by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) the WIM awards celebrate the achievements of female marketers from across the UK.

The Content Marketing Association (CMA), the industry body for the content marketing industry, has revealed the shortlist for its International Content Marketing Awards, to be held on Wednesday, 27th November at Old Billingsgate in London.

The CMA Awards 2013 is already the biggest in the Awards’ 15-year history, with 63 content marketing agencies submitting 445 entries from five continents, including countries such as Qatar and Singapore. The total number of entries is a 5% increase from 2012, with the number of agencies submitting entries increasing 23% year-on-year. [more…]

MediaVest Wins £6m Media Business for ‘NOW That’s What I Call Music!’ In Three-way Pitch

October 17th 2013: MediaVest, the Human Experience Company, has today announced that it has won the seven figure media planning and buying business for NOW That’s What I Call Music! in the UK and Ireland.

MediaVest will manage all upcoming releases in the series of various artists’ compilation albums, starting with the release of NOW That’s What I Call Music! 86, in November 2013. The creative and execution for all releases will be multimedia and roll-out nationally.
