John Lewis has added to its marketing team with the appointment of Becky Brock as marketing director.
Brock will join John Lewis on 20 March from Snow & Rock Group where she is currently marketing director and will report directly to Craig Inglis. She is the retailer’s first marketing director since Craig Inglis’s promotion to the expanded role of customer director in September 2015.
She will be responsible for all aspects of the retailer’s marketing strategy and will take on the leadership of the CRM, digital, brand and category marketing teams.
The Internet Advertising Bureau UK has named Jon Mew as its new chief executive.
Mew has been the IAB’s Chief Operating Officer since September 2014. He joined in November 2008 as the first Head of Mobile, before moving into the role of Director of Mobile and Operations which involved merging mobile into the core part of the business. This year mobile overtook desktop to become the biggest digital platform, in terms of display adspend.
Mew has worked across a variety of media and prior to the IAB held senior marketing roles at Freeserve and Orange. [more…]

The managing director for grocery shopping and comparison site mySupermarket.co.uk, Kim Ludlow, has joined product content company Brandbank to help FMCG brands do a better job at bringing their products to life on shopping websites.
Ludlow, a former Tesco.com head of sales, will head up digital and business innovations at Brandbank, who help FMCG suppliers in 16 countries create and distribute product content, mainly for e-commerce purposes.
WPP’s global brand strategy and design agency, Brand Union today announces an extensive reorganisation of its Asia Pacific operations and management team. The new model will offer prospects and current Brand Union clients the ability to grow across the Asian market.
As part of this restructure Brand Union will be appointing Monica Lee (currently CEO, North Asia) and Graham Hitchmough (currently CEO, South and Southeast Asia) to the roles of Chairman and CEO respectively for the region.

Soul has hired Pete Williams and Chris Day as Creative Leads, boosting the agency’s creative top team.
Williams and Day have been a creative team for 14 years working with major brands above, below, through and on the line. They join the agency from MRM Meteorite where they were Creative Group Heads on P&O Ferries, Churchill and Vauxhall.
They will work across all of Soul’s accounts and will report into Soul Founding Partner and Creative Director Shaun Moran.
