Microsoft today announces general availability of the all-new msn.com in the UK, a platform combining the engagement of an app with the reach of the web. As part of the launch, Sony Mobile, Nissan and The Potato Council are taking first position on the new platform that brings new content and functionality experiences to consumers and builds on Microsoft Advertising’s cross-device storytelling capabilities.

Publishers Must Rebuild for Digital to Achieve Commercial Success

The urgent need for media houses to find new, compelling ways to attract subscribers to their online publications and enable other methods of monetising content is highlighted by an extensive new survey of consumer attitudes to online content and apps.

In the UK a total of 88% polled said that they don’t currently pay for digital media sites and apps providing content such as news, fashion, sports and business, even though 45% said that they had accessed online content that day. BHS department stores start selling food.Sir Philip Green announced this week the launch of new supermarket competitor BHS Food, promising to undercut rivals on branded goods by 10 per cent.

I went through to check out the new BHS food store concept at Staines this morning. It had its grand opening yesterday. A section of the store has been set aside for branded products such as bread and cakes, frozen items and soft drinks.
