Channel 5 have announced My5, a free-to-air TV channel set to go live in early August, broadcasting the best content from the breadth of the Channel 5 family.

High street retail brand John Lewis is the most sought-after employer among professionals in the UK, according to a new ranking released today by LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network.

Based on analysis of the billions of actions of 20 million members in the UK, LinkedIn’s Top Attractors list ranks Virgin Media and Harrods in second and third spots, whilst Google and PA Consulting take fourth and fifth places respectively, followed by ASOS and KPMG.

The Skills Show’s reputation as the UK’s largest and most successful skills and careers event for young people has been reinforced by the success of the 2015 show. Covering its largest ever floor space - equivalent to 12 football pitches across ten halls at the NEC Birmingham -  the event welcomed a total of 78,324 visitors during its three day tenancy.  20,597 people – many of them families - attended during the show’s Saturday opening hours, a 44% increase on 2014.

Dan Brain writes .. Conferences. You know the drill, right? You pay an hour or so of Wayne Rooney’s weekly salary to sit in a room of people talking in clichés and flogging their wares on stage or over a cup of insipid coffee in the lobby of a rubbish hotel?

Well that’s not the iMedia Summit experience. This year’s new look invite-only Summit on 24 April at BAFTA is reserved for the advertisers, agencies and media owners with the most clout.

Drawing on the success of the global iMedia format, the Summit provides a space for invited VIP’s to network informally, share ideas through round-table discussions or debate the big issues in the conference. It’s ‘Chatham House’ rules so discussion is open, frank and focused on collaborative learning (plus there’s no chance of getting stitched up in the press by saying something remotely controversial).
