Big brands suspend, limit digital advertising in U.K.

Jaguar Land Rover, Thomson Reuters and others have reacted to a report that ads have appeared on hate sites and next to YouTube videos from supporters of terrorist and extremist groups.

Big-name advertisers, including car maker Jaguar Land Rover and media and information firm Thomson Reuters, have suspended or limited their U.K. digital advertising spending following a recent newspaper report saying that their ads have appeared on hate sites and next to videos from supporters of Islamic terrorists and other extremist groups.

Waitrose holds title for strongest Christmas campaign

With the holidays fast approaching, annual research from email service provider, Mailjet, has revealed that Waitrose is ahead of other supermarkets in the email campaign stakes as it vies to be consumers’ choice for Christmas dinner this year.

With a total score of 21.3 points out of an available 29.0, this marks the second consecutive victory for Waitrose in the study carried out by marketing experts at Mailjet. This year’s success also represents a significant improvement on Waitrose’s performance from last year, rising by 10% overall.

John Lewis has lost its crown as best British company for customer service and has toppled out of the top three for the first time in seven years.The retailer's score dropped from a chart-topping 87.2 to 84.9 this year, leaving it in sixth place on the semi-annual index from the Institute of Customer Service.
