Aperol hits record sales at Waitrose

Starbucks account : The Kitcatt Nohr loyalty club curse appears to have struck again

The Kitcatt Nohr loyalty club curse appears to have struck again after it was revealed that its Starbucks client is talking to rival agencies about its direct marketing and CRM account.

Publicis-owned Kitcatt Nohr has held the coffee chain’s business since 2011, when it beat off Havas EHS to become Starbucks’ first dedicated UK direct agency. It went on to devise the My Starbucks Rewards card, which allows customers to collect “stars” each time they buy a drink, and is also available as a mobile app.

Wyke Farms have a new TV advert made by Ridley Scott’s commercial production company RSA

Wyke Farms, the UK’s largest independent cheese producer and milk processor, today announces its autumn media campaign. The company is investing £1.2 million into a cross-platform communications campaign, which includes viral seeding, print and broadcast activity.

The campaign, which features their new TV advert made by Ridley Scott’s commercial production company RSA films, will convey the company’s unique brand vales of provenance, passion for the countryside and family farming in Somerset. The advert called ‘Ode To The Cow’ will focus on Wyke’s love of nature and champion the biggest contributor at Wyke Farms: the cow! The campaign launches on 1st September nationally on ITV in a high impact 30-second spot in the centre break of Coronation Street and will run on ITV Breakfast, as well as across other TV channels and also online reaching 59 million viewers in total.

Waitrose’s new campaign from BBH London – great concept, beautifully delivered

Everyone who works at Waitrose owns Waitrose. And when you own something, you care a little more. A British supermarket has turned to a superhuman director to radically shift gears in its advertising.

Waitrose's new campaign from BBH London is its first to focus on the grocery chain's culture and values as an employee-owned business. Looking for an emotional, cinematic approach, BBH brought in Tom Tagholm, the Park Pictures director whose triumphant "Meet the Superhumans" ad for the 2012 Paralympic Games won the Film Craft Grand Prix at Cannes last year.Great concept, beautifully delivered.

The new film, very nicely shot, tells a small, poignant story that brings to life a simple truth—that your commitment to something is usually related to how much of a stake you have in it. Just, you know, keep shopping at Waitrose. [more…]

Second Waitrose customer falls ill after drinking free coffee which contained cleaning fluid... and returned £25 compensation because it was an 'insult'

  • David Sack, 49, grabbed the cappuccino from store in West Byfleet, Surrey
  • Father-of-two began feeling sick after drinking it and went to his GP
  • Waitrose apologised and offered him £25 compensation which he returned
  • Comes just a week after a woman was hospitalised after drinking a coffee from the store in Lewes, East Sussex
