Yahoo, AOL and DoubleClick join Microsoft in being issued brand safety seals to reduce online ad misplacement

Google’s DoubleClick, Yahoo and AOL have joined Microsoft Advertising in being awarded seals confirming they meet industry-agreed standards to protect brands’ safety online. Twenty companies have now been issued seals in the UK.

Recipients* of the seal have had their advertising misplacement policies and processes verified by an independent third party confirming that they meet standards to reduce the risk of online ads being served next to inappropriate or illegal content. A further 18 have committed to undergo independent verification within six months.

Latest : Yahoo has confirmed it’s buying the mobile ad exchange Flurry

We are hearing that Yahoo has bought Flurry, a mobile app analytics @FlurryMobile and advertising company.

We asked @eMarketer to give us some background on the mobile advertising market and Yahoo's ad business. Many thanks for their fast response and all their help.

- The global mobile advertising market is expected to reach $32.71 billion this year, according to eMarketer, up 84.7% from $17.71 billion in 2013. Through Q2 2014, Yahoo had not reported its mobile advertising revenues, but has reported signficant growth in that area, on its most recent earnings call referring to them as "meaningful," an upgrade from "not material" in previous quarterly earnings calls.

Paul Frampton writes Havas Media’s 2013 Meaningful Brands study showed brands such as Google and Facebook riding high in the rankings, owing to their strong performance in improving people’s individual sense of well-being.

Meaningful Brands and their performance against the stock markets show that the demand for companies to go beyond their traditional marketing and business parameters and add to our well-being and quality of life is an essential requirement to the long-term success of a company.

However, tech brands performances on measures relating to community wellbeing were very low.
