Lloyds Banking Group have opened a £500 million fund to help British businesses finance equipment targeting small and medium-sized companies which banks froze out of credit following the financial crisis.

The bank said the fund will deliver quick access to finance by allowing companies to spread the cost of assets over their lifetime, enabling big investments that don't eat into working capital. [more…]

Dixons Carphone, the result of a merger between Dixons (which owns Currys) and Carphone Warehouse in 2014 has finally consolidated most of its creative business into AMV BBDO, in media terms about £60m plus.

The big loser is independent agency Brothers and Sisters which created the rumbustious Keith Lemon online campaign for Carphone Warehouse. This now moves into AMV. [more…]

Lead Tech, the ambitious customer generation business, today announced plans to create 70 new jobs in West Yorkshire and grow turnover to £16m as it completed a move to bespoke offices in Wharfedale.

Based in Otley since it was founded in 2008, Lead Tech has decamped to new, prestigious premises close-by at the Pool Business Park, Pool-in-Wharfedale.

Lead Tech works with financial services companies, like RBS, Metro Bank, Hitachi, Tilney Bestinvest, Aldermore and St James Place, connecting them with new customers using a combination of digital marketing, innovative technology and human interaction.

Every year, brand valuation and strategy consultancy Brand Finance conducts a unique study, calculating the brand strength and value of the world’s leading football club brands. The results are published in the Brand Finance Football 50.

Manchester United tops the table again with a brand value of US$1.17bn (£793 million). A relatively weak, fifth place league finish meant failure to qualify for the Champions League and saw Louis Van Gaal sacked. However a first FA Cup triumph in over a decade and forecasts of continuing revenue growth softened the blow.

Kartfight found in recent research that 1 in 5 employees agree that the opportunity to bond outside of work improves their working relationships. Additionally the study, which was commissioned by event partners TeamSport Indoor Karting, also found one in ten workers believed these events help to improve their communication skills with managers. IAB UK research reveals that 50% of marketers are buying mobile programmatically, yet understanding of programmatic is low

Editor ... Thought you'd be interested in this IAB study of over 300 marketers doing mobile advertising which reveals that 50% are buying mobile inventory programmatically, however, nearly half have no/little knowledge of the discipline.

In addition, location-based advertising is seen as the most exciting mobile opportunity.
