Burger King to launch ‘noshtalgic’ summer menu packed full of British-inspired classics

To celebrate a fantastic action-packed summer in Britain, Burger King UK Ltd is launching an exciting new ‘Summer is served’ menu. The menu features some unmistakable classics inspired by fond childhood memories of British summers, including a Fish Finger Sandwich for grown-ups, Angus XT Ploughman’s and traditional Jelly and Ice Cream.

The new limited edition menu will be available in BURGER KING® restaurants nationwide for a 12 week period to coincide with Britain’s biggest summer of sport. The menu will be rolled out in two phases, the first from Monday 11th June and the second 6 weeks later from Monday 30th July, when the campaign will be supported by an integrated ATL campaign.

The new menu items are packed full of delicious ingredients, the majority of which are sourced in the UK. They include:

·       Fish Finger Sandwich (phase 2) – for the first time in the QSR industry fish fingers are offered to adults! This tasty favourite consists of three fish fingers made from 100% MSC approved Alaskan Pollack coated in golden breadcrumbs and served between two slices of toasted milk loaf, with optional ketchup or HP sauce

·       Angus XT Ploughman (phase 2) – athicker, flame-grilled 100% Aberdeen Angus beef burger, topped with melted slices of Irish cheddar and Red Leicester cheese. This succulent burger is served in a British baked, freshly toasted glazed bun, with fresh slices of onion and tomato, hand picked UK iceberg lettuce, and finished off with a swirl of sweet pickle style relish.

·       Jelly & Ice Cream (phase 1 & 2) – a strawberry flavoured wobblyjelly, served with 100% dairy ice-cream

The new ‘Summer is served’ menu also includes:

·       Coronation Chicken Royale(phase 1) – made from 100% chicken breast coated in crispy crumbs, withcrunchy handpicked iceberg lettuce, topped with a delicious curry-style sauce and served on a long toasted sesame-seeded bun

·       Fish Finger Snack(phase 2) – made from 100% MSC approved Alaskan Pollack coated in golden breadcrumbs. The 3-piece snack portion contain only 218 calories and 5 piece snack portion contact 345 calories

·       Cheddar Cheese Bites (phase 1) – bite size pieces filled with UK and Ireland sourced cheddar cheese mix, coated in crunchy breadcrumbs

·       Strawberry and White Chocolate Pudding (phase 1) – A sponge cake soaked with vanilla syrup, topped with white chocolate creamy mousse and a strawberry sauce
