Redweb has continued its award-winning form for 2012, picking up a ‘Best in Class’ title from the Interactive Media Awards (IMAs) for the RNLI website.

This is the second time the lifesaving charity’s site has scooped honours this year, following on from a silver at October’s Digital Impact Awards in the ‘Best use of digital by a NGO, NFP or charity’ category.

‘Best in Class’ is the highest level of award at the IMAs, recognising the “very best in planning, execution and overall professionalism”. Redweb and the RNLI picked up the title in the ‘Charity’ category. The international awards are run by Interactive Media Council, Inc. (IMC), a non-profit organisation of leading web designers, developers, programmers, advertisers and other web-related professionals.

Redweb launched the RNLI site in June following an innovative design and build project. Created using Microsoft SharePoint 2010, it boasts a range of localised features, interactive tools, and multimedia content – all delivered as a result of extensive user research and testing.

Redweb CEO, Andrew Henning, said: “It’s nice to get further recognition of the RNLI site and all the hard work that went into it. Five months after it was launched, it still stands out for its striking aesthetics, informative and easy user experience, and accomplished technical features.”

This is Redweb’s fourth awards success of 2012. At the start of the year it won the Most Innovative Digital Agency award at the Econsultancy Innovation Awards for the second year running. This was followed by gold at the Transform Awards in the ‘Best rebrand of a digital property’ category for the Action On Hearing Loss site. Most recently, the agency notched a treble at the Digital Impact Awards, winning gold, silver and bronze for the McCarthy & Stone, RNLI and Shorefield Holidays sites respectively.
