The search engine optimisation business, which is now based at the Sharp Project in East Manchester, has released a fiscal report for the year ending January 2013, showing a turnover of £1.6 million.

The increase in revenue demonstrates growth of 60 per cent on the previous twelve month’s figures, and takes the team closer to realising their ambitious goal of breaking the £6 million turnover mark by 2014.

In addition to capital gains, SEONext is also expanding into the southern hemisphere and will open its first office in Sydney in the spring.

30 year-old managing director, Justin Blackhurst, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled with our progress over the last 12 months. To demonstrate growth on this scale, in what are some of the leanest times the global economy has experienced, is incredible. Just four years ago we were a bedroom operation. Now, we have a new base in one of the most talked about tech-hubs in Europe and are expanding into the southern hemisphere.”

Justin set up SEONext with his brother Mark, 35, and university friend Vaibhav Kakkar, 27, in July 2009. Following an initial investment of £4,500, the business has grown rapidly to encompass a manual work operation in India and a rapidly growing sales office in Miami (USA).

To date, the company provides search engine optimisation services to over 150 clients in the UK, including a mix of household brand names and SMEs. Currently employing 12 staff from its North West base, and over 180 from its operation in New Delhi, the business is looking to hire an extra six staff members in the first half of 2013.

Justin continues: “In 2013, we hope to see the economic climate start to thaw. Our growth plans are aggressive but we really see an opportunity in worldwide expansion. We’re also going to be focusing heavily on research and development – with changes taking place minute by minute in the world of SEO, we have to be one step ahead of the game when it comes to trends and behavioural patterns.

Richard Falkner of the company’s accountants, Richard Falkner & Co, said: “What the company have achieved, in less than four years, is to be commended.”
