The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) today announced that it has appointed Lynn McBain to the newly-created post of Director of Sales and Marketing.  Lynn will take up the position on 1 March 2013.

In her new role, Lynn will be responsible for developing and managing the delivery of a coordinated sales and marketing strategy for all CIM products and services, and will help grow CIM’s membership in the UK and overseas.  Lynn’s work will help ensure that the customer is at the heart of decision-making at CIM.

The new board-level position has been created as part of an ongoing reorganisation at CIM, which follows the launch of a major new three-year strategy. The aim is to transform CIM into a customer-led organisation, delivering relevant propositions to all its audiences and recognised as a trusted and authoritative voice for the profession.

Currently Head of Sales at CIM, Lynn previously worked as a Learning and Development specialist with a number of large blue chip organisations, and has previously lectured and taught at a number of Further Education colleges.

Lynn McBain said: “I’m thrilled to be taking up this new position at such an exciting time for CIM.  Like lots of professional bodies, we are thinking carefully about how we can best serve our customers and our profession, and we have lots of work to do to deliver our new strategy.  With the help of our extremely capable team, I’ll be tackling that work immediately.”
