The Great British Entrepreneur Awards announce major new sponsors

At the party conference earlier this month David Cameron praised UK businesses as the driving force behind the economic recovery and put enterprise at the forefront of his speech.   The other parties do not disagree with this sentiment; yet, until now, as a nation we have done very little to acknowledge the true entrepreneurial leaders of Britain today.

To address this, the first Great British Entrepreneur Awards will be held next month. They are the only independent Awards that celebrate British entrepreneurship.   In a show of support from British business the Awards are today able to announce five major new sponsors who will join the headline sponsor Bizcrowd

The new sponsors are:

Exact: A leading global supplier of financial and business software

XLN: Suppliers of business phone lines, business broadband, mobile, card processing services, energy and insurance to UK SMEs

AXA Business Insurance: Business Insurance specialists for micro, small and medium-sized businesses

Dell: Global technology and service providers  who help small and medium businesses draw greater value from IT to grow and better serve their customers

Kaspersky Lab: The World’s largest privately held vendor of endpoint protection solutions.

The awards will take place on 19th November 2013 and have been hailed as the new benchmark for entrepreneurial success in the UK. The categories include; ‘Start-up Entrepreneur of the Year’, ‘Most Captivating Entrepreneur’, ‘Manufacturing Entrepreneur of the Year’, ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year and ‘Digital Innovation Entrepreneur of the Year’.

The entries are now closed and the panel of judges are considering the entries. The short-list will be announced on 22nd October at an event to be hosted at the Royal Bank of Scotland’s London Headquarters.  The judging panel includes many well-known names from the worlds of business, politics and entrepreneurship.  Early indicators are that they have had a very strong field of entries with fascinating stories to tell.

Simon Burton, Founder of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, said: “We’re delighted that Exact, XLN, AXA Business Insurance, Dell and Kaspersky Lab have joined Bizcrowd and demonstrated their support for British entrepreneurs by sponsoring our Awards. The judges tell me that we have many fantastic entries representing true entrepreneurial spirit.  I’m looking forward to being able to celebrate the heroes of British business:  those with the talent, creativity and bravery to start new businesses.”
