BabyBjörn wins International Red Dot Design Award

Swedish family-owned company BabyBjörn has won the Red Dot Design Award for Baby Carrier We Air and One Outdoors – an international accolade for excellent product design.

“We’re absolutely delighted that We Air and One Outdoors, two new arrivals in our baby carrier family, have won this prestigious award,”  says Ulf Ingemarsson, CEO of BabyBjörn. “Our test families and medical experts – the most important judges of our design – have been very satisfied with our new generation baby carriers.  This is further acknowledgement of our quality and design.”

“We’re inspired daily by parents who want a flexible baby carrier that makes it possible for them to live an active life in a safe and practical way. They want to be able to carry their newborns up until the age of three years, for longer periods of time and even on their backs,” adds Jakob Wikner, Head of Product Development at BabyBjörn. ”We get valuable feedback all the time from lots of parents about what makes a really good baby carrier. And we listen to them.”

An independent panel and jury of 41 international design experts judge the products on the basis of nine different criteria. The jury gave We Air and One Outdoors the Red Dot Design Award for their distinctive design, degree of innovation, functionality, formal quality, ergonomics and durability.  The organiser is Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen.

Baby Carrier We Air

Baby Carrier We Air is a soft and breathable baby carrier made of premium quality, flexible and airy mesh. The simple-to-use baby carrier has just a few buckles and is designed for use for a baby from birth and up to the age of three years.

Baby Carrier One Outdoors

One Outdoors is a multifunctional baby carrier with a sturdy waist belt and padded shoulder strap to ensure optimum carrying comfort. It’s perfect for families who love outdoor activities, thanks to its functional materials and clever details that give easy access to a mobile, water bottle or blankey. It also has a convenient storage bag.

Its inbuilt infant insert is perfect for newborn babies and its sturdy adjustable straps also make it comfortable for carrying a three-year-old (up to 15 kilos).

Both baby carriers are acknowledged by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute (IHDI) as hip-healthy baby carriers that encourage good hip joint development.
