Three men in a hire car… starring Arsenal players Petr Cech, Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck

Europcar, the Official Car and Van Rental Partner of Arsenal Football Club, today released its brand new video ‘Road Trip’, starring Arsenal players Petr Cech, Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck.

The amusing film follows the capers of the three teammates as they take a trip in a Europcar hire car, having thought they had missed the team coach to an away match.

The trio expertly capture the atmosphere of a somewhat tedious car journey as they bicker over driving and play in-car quizzes; there’s even a dashboard drum solo performance from goalkeeping legend Petr Cech.

The film follows the viral success of ‘Face to Face with the Arsenal Family’ released in 2014 – which attracted over a million views in less than 72 hours, and more than 6.4million social impressions. The players themselves were keen to get involved with ‘Road Trip’.

This campaign – which will run across multiple platforms including YouTube, Facebook and Europcar’s content hub for Arsenal fans – was brokered for Europcar by SPORTS at SMG, with the agency’s specialist content division, LiquidThread, devising, creating and producing all the content.
