Getty Images brings real time visual news coverage to consumers with the launch of News Unfiltered

New consumer experience allows viewers to see and share up-to-the minute images from global news events as they happen.

Getty Images, a world leader in visual communication, this week announced the launch of News Unfiltered, a new visual news source that feeds editorial imagery from news events around the world, as and when they happen, allowing users to engage and share images in real time.

Getty Images news photographers, contributors and partners are on the ground, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, reporting on the live events from all corners of the world. In as close to real time as possible, News Unfiltered delivers the images direct from the photographer’s camera straight to consumer screens in as fast as 59 seconds.

Available on gettyImages.com/unfiltered and Getty Images’ iOs and Android apps, News Unfiltered is a free resource that showcases every angle and point of view from the 24-hour news cycle.  The platform allows audiences to view images uploaded from simultaneous events sans curation, offering a veritable same-time view of the world as seen by the photographers at the heart of the action.

From Prime Minister Trudeau’s family visit to Juno beach, to the thousands of officers that today lined London’s streets to bid farewell to Westminster attack victim PC Palmer, the feed enables viewers to see the full take from these and other major events, and share the news on Twitter and Facebook as they see it.

Getty Images’ Managing Editor and Senior Vice President of Consumer Media, Steve Grimes said: “A single image can say a lot, but today more than ever, being able to see events from multiple angles, without opinion or commentary allows you to get a more comprehensive visual story.  With Getty Images’ unparalleled access, News Unfiltered allows you to truly be everywhere at once, seeing the world through the lens of Getty Images photographers.”

The launch marks another step in the Getty Images Everywhere strategy which aims to bring Getty Images’ award winning content to the world.
