Attio vs HubSpot: Which CRM Is Better for Growing Businesses in 2026?

Attio vs HubSpot is a choice between a flexible CRM that you configure around your business and a wider customer platform with sales, marketing and service tools built in. Attio is the better fit for technical teams that need a custom data model. HubSpot is usually better when marketing, sales and customer support must work from the same customer data.

Neither CRM wins for every business. HubSpot has more CRM features, native integrations and ready-made sales processes. However, Attio gives users more freedom to create custom objects, relationships and cross functional workflows.

The simplest verdict is this:

  • Choose Attio if you want a modern CRM built around a flexible data model and your own sales process.
  • Choose HubSpot if you need marketing automation, lead scoring, landing pages, sales tools and customer service in one platform.

The harder question is where you want the complexity to sit. HubSpot places more tools inside one system, but its cost and administration can grow. Attio looks cleaner and costs less for many sales teams, yet the business may need extra apps and more configuration work.

UK pricing checked on 14 September 2026. Prices exclude VAT unless the vendor’s quote states otherwise. Discounts, taxes, credits and plan limits can change.

How we compared the two CRM platforms

A useful CRM comparison should not award points for features that a team will never use. Instead, we assessed the products against five working questions:

  1. Can the CRM data model represent the people, companies and relationships the business tracks?
  2. Can staff complete routine sales tasks without manual work or duplicate CRM updates?
  3. Can marketing, sales and service teams share accurate customer data?
  4. Can managers answer pipeline, campaign and revenue questions through useful dashboards?
  5. What is the full cost after seats, AI credits, onboarding, CRM migration and connected apps?

This approach reveals the real difference. Attio and HubSpot are no longer two versions of the same sales database.

The key difference is the data model

HubSpot starts with familiar CRM records such as contacts, companies, deals and tickets. That structure fits many standard sales processes. A small sales team can create a pipeline, connect email, log activity and start managing leads without designing the system from scratch.

Attio gives the user more control. Its custom objects and relationships let organisations define the entities they need, add attributes and link records together.

Consider an investment firm. Its CRM data may include founders, funds, investors, advisers, portfolio companies, introductions and deals. A simple contact-to-company model may not show those relationships clearly.

Attio can create objects for each record type. It can then connect an investor to several funds, portfolio companies and introductions. Filtered views help different teams see the records that matter to them.

An agency presents another example. It may want to connect clients with retainers, projects, campaigns, partner referrals and renewal dates. Attio’s flexible data model can reflect that operating structure.

However, flexibility creates work. Someone must define the objects, decide who owns each field and set rules for CRM updates. If nobody owns the configuration, users may create duplicate records and inconsistent attributes.

HubSpot is a better fit when the standard model already matches the sales process. Attio is a better fit when the business would otherwise fight the CRM structure every week.

HubSpot versus Attio for sales teams

HubSpot’s sales product offers a broad range of tools. The free tools cover contact management, deals and basic pipeline work. Paid plans add features such as sequences, calling, workflow automation, forecasting, playbooks, reporting and conversation intelligence.

This breadth helps larger departments standardise their sales processes. Managers can create deal stages, assign leads, track activity and build dashboards. Professional and Enterprise plans also provide more advanced controls and reporting.

Attio focuses on building sales activity around connected records. Users can sync email and calendar accounts, organise contacts and companies, create lists, run sequences and automate sales tasks. Attio Pro adds call intelligence, advanced reporting and more permission controls.

The daily experience feels different. HubSpot guides users into a mature sales system. Attio offers a cleaner workspace that teams configure around their own process.

Attio is likely to suit sales teams that:

  • Run founder-led or relationship-led selling.
  • Need custom objects rather than only contacts, companies and deals.
  • Have technical teams or operations staff who can manage configuration.
  • Already use specialist email, enrichment and outreach apps.
  • Want a focused CRM instead of several product hubs.

HubSpot is likely to suit sales teams that:

  • Use a conventional lead-to-deal pipeline.
  • Need forecasting, playbooks and structured sales management.
  • Want a large app ecosystem and established training resources.
  • Need marketing and service activity attached to the same records.
  • Prefer ready-made processes over a blank starting point.

HubSpot wins for sophisticated marketing automation

HubSpot’s largest advantage appears when marketing forms part of the CRM decision.

Marketing Hub combines forms, landing pages, email campaigns, segments, lead scoring, ad management and reporting. It also supports inbound marketing programmes that move contacts from first response to qualified lead.

For example, a visitor can download a guide and enter the CRM automatically. Basic automation can send a follow-up email. A more advanced plan can score the lead, enrol the contact in a sequence and notify a salesperson when engagement reaches a set level.

HubSpot users can then connect campaign activity with deal and revenue data. This is useful when a marketing team must show which campaigns create pipeline rather than only clicks.

Attio supports sequences, forms through connected services and workflow automation. It also offers apps for tools such as Mailchimp and Typeform. Yet it does not provide a native marketing suite with the same breadth as Marketing Hub.

An Attio buyer may therefore connect several specialist products. That can create a flexible stack, but it also means more native integrations, field mapping and data ownership decisions to check.

If you are planning this part of the stack, read our guide to marketing automation tools.

AI tools and workflow automation

Both CRM platforms now use AI, but the products apply it across different areas.

Attio’s AI attributes can classify, summarise and enrich records with internal or public data. Its workflow builder includes trigger, logic, action, integration and AI blocks.

This design lets early-stage teams build AI into a custom data model. A workflow could research a new company, fill selected attributes, assign an owner and add the record to an outreach list.

HubSpot applies AI across a larger customer platform. Its current offer includes sales prospecting, customer, content and data agents. Sales Hub can also use intent signals, while Marketing Hub adds AI support for content, segments and campaigns.

HubSpot has the advantage when AI must work across marketing, sales and customer service. Attio has the advantage when a technical team wants AI actions tied to its own objects and relationships.

AI credits affect the real price

Do not compare AI features without checking their credit model.

Attio includes seat credits and shared workspace credits. Plus currently includes 500 seat credits per user and 1,500 workspace credits each month. Pro includes 1,000 per user and 10,000 for the workspace.

HubSpot Sales Hub Professional includes 3,000 HubSpot Credits a month. Extra credits currently cost £8.10 per 1,000 with annual payment.

These credits do not measure identical actions. Build two or three real workflows, estimate their monthly runs and ask each vendor to explain the expected credit use.

Attio vs HubSpot UK pricing

Both companies publish GBP pricing for UK buyers. The figures below come from their live UK pricing pages and were checked on 14 September 2026.

Attio UK pricing

Attio’s GBP pricing page lists four plans:

Attio planAnnual billingMonthly billingMain allowance
Free£0£0Up to three seats and 50,000 records
Plus£27 per user/month£34 per user/monthUp to ten seats and 250,000 records
Pro£59 per user/month£74 per user/monthUnlimited seats and one million records
EnterpriseCustom enterprise pricingCustom quoteUnlimited objects and advanced admin controls

At annual rates, ten Plus users cost £3,240 a year before VAT and extras. Ten Pro users cost £7,080.

Attio also charges for added workspace credits. For example, 5,000 extra credits cost £55 a month with annual payment or £70 on monthly billing. This can change the total for teams running frequent AI actions or cross-functional workflows.

HubSpot UK pricing

HubSpot’s UK Sales Hub pricing currently shows:

HubSpot Sales Hub planAnnual billingMonthly billingRequired onboarding
Free£0 for up to two users£0None shown
StarterFrom £7 per seat/month£18 per seat/monthNone shown
ProfessionalFrom £77 per seat/month£85 per seat/month£1,310
EnterpriseFrom £135 per seat/monthQuote required£3,050

The £7 Starter price is marked as a new-customer offer, so check the renewal terms before buying.

Ten Sales Hub Professional seats cost £9,240 a year at the displayed annual rate. After the required £1,310 onboarding fee, the published first-year cost is £10,550 before VAT, extra credits and other services.

Marketing costs change the comparison. HubSpot Marketing Hub Professional starts at £702 a month on annual billing or £780 monthly. It includes three Core Seats, 2,000 marketing contacts and 3,000 credits. HubSpot also lists required onboarding of £2,600.

That produces a first-year published cost of £11,024 for Marketing Hub Professional on annual billing, before VAT and extras.

Why licence cost is not the full answer

Attio costs less in the ten-user sales example. However, it may need separate marketing, form, service, enrichment or reporting tools.

HubSpot looks expensive at Professional level. Yet some businesses may replace several subscriptions and reduce the work needed to keep customer data in sync.

Calculate the full cost over three years. Include:

  • Paid seats and future team growth.
  • Marketing contact limits.
  • AI and enrichment credits.
  • Data migration and onboarding.
  • External apps and native integrations.
  • Staff time spent on configuration and support.
  • The cost of maintaining historical data and reports.

Enterprise pricing needs a written quote from both vendors. Ask for renewal terms, implementation fees, data limits, SSO, service levels and any minimum contract value.

Reporting, dashboards and integrations

HubSpot offers wider reporting across the customer journey. Sales managers can track pipeline and forecasting. Marketing teams can assess campaigns, lead scoring and attribution. Service teams can measure tickets and support performance.

This shared view is useful for larger organisations. It can also support cross functional workflows because each department works from the same contacts, companies and activity history.

Attio provides CRM reports, funnel reports, targets and real-time views. Plus allows up to 15 reports, while Pro raises the limit to 100 and adds more reporting capabilities.

Attio’s approach may suit a business that wants to build reports around a custom data model. However, users of several external platforms must decide which system owns each metric.

HubSpot states that its marketplace has more than 2,000 apps and web services. Attio offers native integrations for popular services, plus API, webhook, SDK and MCP access. Technical teams may value that developer access even when a ready-made app does not exist.

Before choosing, list every app that reads or writes CRM data. Confirm the required plan, sync direction, field coverage, update frequency and vendor support.

Should existing HubSpot users move to Attio?

Do not switch because a product demonstration makes Attio look faster or simpler. A CRM migration changes processes, reporting and ownership as well as software.

Review the previous 90 days and answer these questions:

  1. Which HubSpot hubs and paid seats are active?
  2. Which forms, landing pages and campaigns generate leads?
  3. Which workflows still create tasks or CRM updates?
  4. Does marketing use attribution or campaign reports?
  5. Does the service team manage tickets or a knowledge base?
  6. Which apps depend on HubSpot records?
  7. Which historical data must remain searchable?

If the account mainly stores contacts, companies, deals, emails and meetings, Attio could be a better fit. If HubSpot also runs inbound marketing, sophisticated marketing automation and service operations, moving may leave serious gaps.

Attio provides a CRM migration service through Import2 on paid plans. HubSpot CRM is listed as a supported source. The service can import companies, people, deals, custom objects, notes, tasks and files.

However, imported records are only one part of the switch. Teams must map fields, rebuild workflow automation, recreate reports and test permissions.

A safer migration process

  • Export and back up all HubSpot records.
  • Define the future Attio data model on one page.
  • Map fields, owners, deal stages and relationships.
  • Import a sample that includes difficult records.
  • Rebuild two high-value workflows first.
  • Compare totals, notes, tasks and activity history.
  • Let sales teams test their daily work.
  • Cancel HubSpot only after the new system passes review.

Which modern CRM should you choose?

Choose Attio when the business needs a flexible data model more than a full marketing platform. It is a good match for early stage teams, agencies, investors, partnerships teams and companies with unusual sales processes.

Choose HubSpot when the company needs one connected platform for marketing, sales and customer support. Its broad CRM features, service tools and paid product hubs offer more coverage without building a stack from separate products.

Businesses running webinars should also check how registration, attendance and follow-up data enters the CRM. Our UK webinar software guide explains that part of the process.

Attio vs HubSpot: final verdict

HubSpot is the better choice when marketing, sales and service must share one platform. It offers more native integrations, stronger marketing automation and wider reporting. Those capabilities can justify the price when several teams use them.

Attio is the better choice when the organisation needs a configurable CRM for relationships, deal flow and custom sales processes. It gives users more control over objects, attributes and workflow automation at a lower published cost.

The decision should not come down to which vendor has the longest feature list. Decide which system matches the work your people perform each week.

If that work centres on campaigns, landing pages, lead scoring, sales and service, choose HubSpot. If it centres on custom relationships, focused selling and a data model that standard CRM software cannot represent well, choose Attio.
